The Ministry of Works and Transport notes with concern the report by the Facebook Group "Trini Daily" that the Ministry has called an emergency meeting after receiving a memo about a tropical cyclone possibly hitting T&T, and wishes to advise the public that the Ministry has not issued any weather forecasts or bulletin regarding the possibility of an upcoming cyclone.

The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) wishes to advise the public (motorists/residents/pedestrians) that works on the following culverts along the Beetham Highway will commence on Saturday 27th May, 2017 and is scheduled to end on Sunday 28th May, 2017:

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport has authorized the use of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) to all light motor vehicles from Abattoir Road, Port of Spain to Morvant Junction ONLY from Tuesday 16th May, 2017 until further notice.

Partial Opening of the Priority bus Route (PBR) is no longer in effect 

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that authorization that was previously granted to Light Motor Vehicles to utilize the segment of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) from Abattoir Road to Morvant Junction today at 9:30a.m. has been rescinded, with immediate effect.

The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise  the public (motorists/residents/pedestrians) that construction works on the southern section of Beetham Culvert #3, running across the Beetham Highway (located 700m west of the entrance to the Beetham Landfill), will commence on Friday 5th May, 2017 10:00pm and  is scheduled to end on MOnday 8th May, 2017 at 4AM.

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that the South Trunk Road has been closed off between St. Mary’s Village Main Road (North) and Oropouche Road (South) as of the afternoon of Thursday 13th April, 2017. The partial closure of the roadway is necessary to conduct repair works that was caused by a failure of a cylinder crossing.

On Saturday 8th April 2017, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan toured the St Ann's East and Tunapuna constituencies to assist in the development a comprehensive infrastructural work program to address the critical needs of communities across Trinidad and Tobago.

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport met with Dr. Wayne Kublalsingh and other members of the Highway Re-route Movement (HRM) on Monday 13th March, 2017 to discuss the HRM’s views on the extension of the Solomon Hochoy Highway to Point Fortin.
