New Board of The Pilotage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago Officially Installed

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport officially installed the Board of

Directors of the Pilotage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago yesterday at the Ministry of Works and

Transport. The Authority was installed pursuant to the provisions of section 4(1)(a) of the Pilotage Act,

Chapter 51:02, for a period of two years with effect from December 2nd, 2017 and will be led by its

Chairman Mr. Ronald Alfred.

Minister of Works Senator Rohan Sinanan Signs Order for 9 Speed Guns

On Friday 17th November 2017, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport, signed an order for the use of nine (9) additional LIDAR Speed Guns, by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. This new addition increases the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s capacity of LIDAR Speed Guns to fifteen (15), which would be placed into immediate use in Trinidad and Tobago.

Closure of Quinam Beach Lifeguard Headquarters

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that the Quinam Lifeguard Headquarters, Quinam Beach,  and  the  Penal  Quinam  Road (350m from the Quinam Beach) will be closed during the period 19th November, 2017 to 26th May, 2018.

MOWT continues relief works following heavy rainfall

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that following the occurrence of landslips and fallen debris from yesterday’s heavy rainfall, it has deployed clean-up crews to Santa Cruz, Maraval, the North Coast Road (near the Maracas lookout), and the Lady Young Road, with the assistance of the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation and the Diego Martin Regional Corporation.

MOWT on Ocean Flower 2

The Ministry of Works and Transport is cognisant of the presence of the Ocean Flower 2 passenger vessel in the waters of Trinidad and Tobago and wishes to advise the public that its presence is related to a dry docking exercise being undertaken by its owner. The presence of the vessel in T&T is not related to the terminated contract between the Ministry and the owner of the vessel.

MOWT Mobilises technical team to assist in light of flash flooding

Minister of Works and Transport, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan will visit Port of Spain following the conclusion of his tour of the constituency of Siparia. Minister Sinanan will conduct first hand preliminary assessments of several areas adversely affected by the torrential downpours and flash flooding experienced in Port of Spain and environs, shortly after lunch today.
