MOWT Commissions three new Bridges in Toco

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport officially commissioned three bridges along the Toco Main Road on Tuesday 14th March, 2023. These include the B1/22 (Breakfast River Bridge), B 1/1 (Galera Bridge) and B1/24 (Cumana Bridge).

MOWT's Achievements 2022 - Bridges Reconstruction Programme

Bridges represent critical elements of our overall transportation system. Under the Ministry’s Bridges Reconstruction Programme, the Bridges, Landslips and Traffic Management Unit reconstructed 37 bridges in Phases 1 & 2, with an estimated 24 bridges to be constructed under Phase 3A&B in 2023.This forms part of the Ministry’s mandate to provide quality infrastructure across Trinidad.

Minister of Works and Transport Visits M1 Tasker Road 4.0km Mark for the Reopening

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport was on-site at the M1 Tasker Road 4.0km Mark as the Ministry’s Highways Division completes restoration works on the roadway. The M1 Tasker Road will be reopened to the commuting public at 6:00 p.m. today (Monday 24th October, 2022). At the site visit, Minister Sinanan expressed his satisfaction with the timely progress made on the project which was completed within a two-week period.

To date, the Ministry has initiated works on this project. However, prior to commencing works on the landslip, a number of preliminary activities must be undertaken.

Bridge B1in70 is Now a Two Lane Reinforced Concrete Bridge

04 Oct 2022

The Bridge B1/70 was previously a single lane bailey bridge with no sidewalks and could accommodate a maximum capacity of 10 tonnes. It was transformed into a two lane reinforced concrete bridge with improved drainage and river protection, and no load limit. The Ministry of Works and Transport held a brief Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to officially open B1/70 along the Paria Main Road, Blanchisseuse.
