MOWT Meets with Valsayn South residents

As a continued measure to collectively address drainage and flooding concerns, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport and his executive team, met with the Honourable Adrian Leonce, Minister in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development alongside executives of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and residents of the Valsayn South area earlier today (Tuesday 1st November 2022).

Minister of Works and Transport Visits M1 Tasker Road 4.0km Mark for the Reopening

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport was on-site at the M1 Tasker Road 4.0km Mark as the Ministry’s Highways Division completes restoration works on the roadway. The M1 Tasker Road will be reopened to the commuting public at 6:00 p.m. today (Monday 24th October, 2022). At the site visit, Minister Sinanan expressed his satisfaction with the timely progress made on the project which was completed within a two-week period.

Improvement of Drainage in the Cocorite Area

The Ministry of Works and Transport’s Highways Division is currently on-site at Powder Magazine Phase 1, Cocorite clearing debris and silt on the Western Main Road following a minor landslide which occurred after heavy rains. Clean-up efforts commenced on Saturday 22nd October, 2O22 and are ongoing.

Rescheduling of Licensing Appointments for the Divali Holiday

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that appointments previously scheduled for Monday 24th October, 2022 (Divali) will now be accommodated between the periods of Tuesday 25th October, 2022 to Tuesday 1st November, 2022.

Progress Update on Repair of Landslip At La Fortune Pluck Road/Santa Cecilia Trace, San Francique

The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) would like to take this opportunity to provide an update on the progress of the repairs to the landslip at La Fortune Pluck Road/Santa Cecilia Trace, San Francique. To date, the Ministry has initiated works on this project. However, prior to commencing works on the landslip, a number of preliminary activities must be undertaken. 

Closure of Princes Town Licensing Office

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that due to a power outage by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC), the Princes Town Licensing Office is closed as of 9:30 a.m. - Wednesday 19th October 2022.

Achievement of Key Milestone La Brea Interchange Bridge (Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension to Point Fortin Project)

On Thursday 13th October 2022, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport accompanied by a technical team from the Ministry of Works and Transport witnessed a key milestone with the completion of Package 3A of the La Brea Interchange Bridge. A major concrete pour for the Interchange bridge deck commenced at 7:00 pm and was completed at 8:00 am on Friday 14th October 2022. An estimated 220M³ of concrete was installed, representing another significant achievement in the completion of the Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension to Point Fortin (SHHEPF) Project.

Partial Opening of the Priority Bus Route - Mt. Hope to Arima

Removal of Appointments for Certain Licensing Transactions
