On Friday, April 29, 2022, the Minister of Works and Transport, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan met with Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, the Honourable Farley Augustine. At this high-level meeting, discussions focused on specific projects poised to improve the operations of the Transportation Division and land, sea, and air transportation in Tobago.

The Ministry of Works and Transport continues to embark on a multipronged approach to mitigate flooding in the Caroni River Catchment and other catchment areas across Trinidad. The Drainage Division is presently conducting its annual Comprehensive Desilting Programme with over twenty (20) desilting projects being undertaken on the Caroni River and its tributaries.

The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) wishes to provide an update on the road failure along the Mosquito Creek.

The Ministry of Works and Transport once again notes with great concern the trend of theft and intentional damage to Government property by private citizens.

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport, alongside senior members of the Ministry's Executive Team, met with Mr. Ravi Ramsingh (President)  and Mr. Randy Soogrim (Public Relations Officer) of the Barrackpore to San Fernando Taxi Association, as well as, Mr. Chandradath Rampersad, President of the Princes Town to Barrackpore Taxi Association on Thursday 14th  October, 2021.

The Ministry of Works and Transport notes with great concern, recent protest action in the Barrackpore area on Monday 11th October 2021. Burning debris was placed at various points along Rochard Douglas Road, Papourie Road, Kanhai Road, St. Croix Road and Oropouche River Road, which serve as major connectors into the Barrackpore area.

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise members of the general public who are in receipt of fixed penalty notices (traffic tickets), that all authorised Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) payment locations will be closed on Thursday 30th September, 2021 (ONLY). This closure of TTPost’s Corporate Retail Shops is due to the undertaking of its Annual Stock Taking exercise.
