Who We Are

400x500-images9.jpg The Environmental, Health and Safety Unit (EHSU), previously known as the Environmental Unit (EU), was established in 1996.

From its inception, the EU had actively pursued the integration of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) considerations in the Ministry’s operations.  With the enactment of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) of 2004, the EU was transformed to the Environmental Health and Safety Unit (EHSU) Unit in August 2009.

The EHSU has benefited from ensuring conformance to both these internal and external parameters, in that; there has been better management of service delivery, improvement in its internal processes and an improved decision making support systems.
