Temporary Traffic Disruption along Couva Preysal Overpass and Solomon Hochoy Highway

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that from Thursday 7th to Monday 25th March, 2019 there will be temporary traffic disruptions along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, north of the Couva-Preysal Overpass.

This is necessary in order to facilitate the replacement of a cylinder crossing.
The public is advised that the diversion routes for motorists during construction are outlined below.
Please be advised that traffic restrictions will be in effect as follows:
• Thursday 7th March, 2019 from 10:00AM to Sunday 10th March, 2019 at 8:00PM
Exit onto Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway northbound will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Access will be facilitated via the existing southern exit. This traffic arrangement is shown in Figure 1.

• Saturday 9th March, 2019 from 10:00AM to Sunday 10th March, 2019 at 8:00PM
Exit from Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway southbound to Preysal/ Gran Couva will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Access will be facilitated via Couva exit where right turns will be allowed under police direction. This traffic arrangement is shown in Figure 2.

• Friday 15th March, 2019 from 10:00PM to Monday 18th March, 2019 at 4:00AM
Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway southbound will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Traffic will be diverted onto the overpass and back onto the Highway as shown in Figure 3.

• Friday 22nd March, 2019 from 10:00PM to Monday 25th March, 2019 at 4:00AM
Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway northbound will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Traffic will be diverted onto the overpass and back onto the Highway as shown in Figure 4.

Motorists are advised to:
• Proceed with extreme caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
• Follow instructions from Police Officers on site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
• Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site.
