The Ministry of Works and Transport is presently on site at the North Coast Road where a major landslide
occurred earlier this morning in the vicinity of Maracas Bar and Tyrico Bay.
Contractors have already been dispatched and are presently clearing the fallen debris. The debris is as a
result of rock slides following continued torrential downpours along the North Coast Road for most of the
Emancipation Holiday yesterday.
Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and be aware of heavy equipment on site. We also
encourage motorists to observe all directional signs and barriers, and to drive at a reduced speed on
approaching the affected area.
