MOWT on Ocean Flower 2

The Ministry of Works and Transport is cognisant of the presence of the Ocean Flower 2 passenger vessel in the waters of Trinidad and Tobago and wishes to advise the public that its presence is related to a dry docking exercise being undertaken by its owner. The presence of the vessel in T&T is not related to the terminated contract between the Ministry and the owner of the vessel.

Additionally, the Ministry of Works and Transport notes the comments being made in some quarters regarding the stand-by letter of credit which was signed by the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) with its bankers as part of the previous contractual engagement with the Bridgemans Services Group for the charter of the Ocean Flower 2.

Following the termination of the contract for the Ocean Flower 2 for non-delivery of the vessel, the Ministry assures the public that such letter of credit cannot be drawn down by Bridgemans Services Group as a result of the termination of this contract by the Ministry.

In this regard, the Ministry advises the national community that the letter of credit will come to an end
