Maraval Access Project Bridge Reconstruction

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, through its Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency (PURE) Unit, has completed the Maraval Access Project Bridge Reconstruction. This major traffic management initiative is designed to increase road capacity, reduce congestion, and improve overall safety for motorists and pedestrians. Executed along Saddle Road, Maraval, in the vicinity of Anderson Terrace, the project involved widening the roadway to create four lanes, the enhancement of the intersection at Anderson Terrace and Saddle Road, and improved road safety works along the bridge.

The completed upgrade now delivers a smoother, safer, and more efficient travel experience for the thousands of commuters who use this route daily. The widened roadway has significantly reduced traffic congestion, shortened travel times, and enhanced pedestrian access, contributing to improved connectivity between Maraval and surrounding communities. This project represents another step in the Ministry’s mission to build modern, resilient, and people-focused infrastructure that supports national development and transforms everyday commutes across Trinidad.
