Enhancing Connectivity for Matelot The New Shark River Bridge Project

The Ministry’s Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency (PURE) Unit is constructing a brand-new, dual-lane Shark River Bridge in the community of Matelot to replace the existing temporary Bailey Bridge. The new structure is being built higher and stronger to enhance durability, safety, and resilience against harsh weather conditions. Once completed, the bridge will significantly improve access and connectivity for residents, boost local economic activity, and ensure safer, more dependable passage for all road users. This modern bridge marks a major step toward better connectivity and sustainable development for Matelot and surrounding communities.
