The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption at LP# 1999A/96km mark along the Southern Main Road, Chatham. The disruption will take place from Wednesday 7th September, 2022 to Tuesday 13th September, 2022 between the hours 9:00PM to 4:00AM. This has become necessary to facilitate the relocation of WASA’s 8-inch pipeline and the installation of additional shoring to maintain the roadway.
Considering the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:
- Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers
- Motorists should drive at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone
- Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site
- Comply with instructions from Police Officers on site to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic
