The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the general public that there will be a temporary road closure on the Cumuto Tumpuna Road (also known as Cumuto Tamana Road) in the vicinity of the 5.0km mark, effective October 14th, 2022, as a result of a failed Cylinder Crossing at the location. Due to concern for the safety of road users, it has become necessary to close the roadway.
Please be advised that this section of the Cumuto Tumpuna Road will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic until further notice to facilitate timely completion of these works.
Alternative routes are available through the Cumuto Tumpuna Road to Cumuto Main Road and the Tumpuna Main Road to access the Highway.
The public is advised to utilize the alternative routes and comply with the following directions:
- Proceed with extreme caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
- Comply with instructions issued by Police Officers and Traffic Wardens, where necessary, in order to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
- Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the work site.
