About the Mechanical Division


The Mechanical Services Division has been a part of the Ministry of Works and Transport since its inception. The contribution of this core technical Division to other Divisions of the Ministry as well as numerous other Government agencies is invaluable as it fulfil its core responsibilities of the Acquisition and Maintenance of vehicles, mechanical plants and equipment.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Division

The Mechanical Division is responsible for the:

  • Maintenance of fixed and movable equipment and mechanical plants
  • Provision of advisory services to Government agencies on the purchase, utilization, maintenance and disposal of vehicles, mechanical plants and equipment
  • Management of the acquisition, allocation and disposal of vehicles, mechanical plants and equipment for all the core technical Divisions of the Ministry of Works and Transport
Major Units in the Mechanical Division

The Core Units of the Mechanical Division are:

  • Mechanical Services Division, Head Office
  • Mechanical Services Division, Guaico (Sub Unit)
  • Mechanical Services Division, San Fernando (Sub Unit)
