REGULATIONS

 

Madeby the Commissioner of Police with the consent of the Minister of Works and Transportunder section 67(1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act

 

 

THE TRAFFIC CONTROL(EXPERIMENTAL SCHEME) (CHAGUANAS/LONGDENVILLE) REGULATIONS, 2016

 

Citation

1.      These Regulations may be cited as the Traffic Control (Experimental Scheme) (Chaguanas/Longdenville) Regulations, 2016.

 

 

Duration

 

2.      These Regulations shall commence on Monday 29th February, 2016 and expire on Saturday 28th May, 2016.

 

 

 

 

Parking Prohibited

PART I

CHAGUANAS

 

3.      A person driving a motor vehicle shall not park on–

 

(a)    Caroni Savannah Road, between Endeavour Link Road and Munroe Road Interchange;

 

(b)   Henry Street, between Penco Street and Bonito Street, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm from Monday to Friday;

 

(c)    the eastern side of Gaston Street, between Penco Street and Paria Avenue; and

 

(d)   the western and eastern sides of Barry Crescent.

 

No entry to

maxi- taxis

 

4.      A driver of a maxi-taxi shall not enter Orchard Boulevard from Rudranath Capildeo Street, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

 

 

 

 

One-way traffic

PART II

LONGDENVILLE

 

5.      A person driving a motor vehicle shall proceed-

(a)    in a northerly direction on Apping Street, between Depot Road and Richard Street, between the hours of  7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday except on public holidays; and

 

(b)   in a westerly direction on Richard Street, between Apping Street and Brasso-Caparo Valley Road, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday except on public holidays.

 

 

 

 

 

Offence and penalty

PART III

GENERAL

6.      A person who contravenes any of the provisions of these Regulations is liable on summary conviction for a first offence, to a fine of seven hundred and fifty dollars, and on any subsequent conviction, to a fine of one thousand dollars.

 

Removal and impounding of vehicles unlawfully parked

7.      Without prejudice to any other liability incurred by the commission of a summary offence, vehicles found parked in contravention of these Regulations may be removed by the Police and impounded and dealt with in accordance with section 108(1)(b) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
