PUBLIC NOTICE


RESTORATION OF ALL PAVEMENT MARKINGS AND

INSTALLATION OF RETROFLECTIVE ROAD STUDS



The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) in partnership with the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wish to inform motorists/residents/pedestrians that there will be a temporary disruption in traffic along the Eastern Main Road from La Plaisance Street, Port of Spain to Byatt Street, Petit Bourg  (Eastbound- Eastbound.

The objective of this project is the restoration of all Pavement Markings and the supply and installation of raised Retro-reflective Road studs to the carriageway.

This disruption is expected to begin on Monday 25th May, 2015 and continue for a period of approximately six weeks until Monday 6th July, 2015. Works will be undertaken during the hours of 8Pm to 4AM and during these hours of work, traffic will be temporarily diverted onto the Priority Bus Route under the direction of the Police.

  • The public is advised to proceed with caution, observe the signage provided on the approached to the site and follow the instructions of the Police.

  • All precautions are being taken by NIDCO and its contractor to ensure that proper Health, Safety and Environmental Standards are maintained.

DETAILS OF TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

  • Construction works will be done between the hours of 8PM and 4AM on Mondays and Saturdays
  • Traffic will be diverted tot he Priority bus Route under the direction of the Police betweenthe hours of 8Pm and 4AM
  • Traffic speed limit approaching construction zones is 20MPH
  • Traffic speed limit within construction zones is 15MPH
