LEGAL NOTICE NO. 34

 

REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

 

THEMOTOR VEHICLES AND ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, CHAP. 48:50

 

REGULATIONS

 

MADE BY THECOMMISSIONER OF POLICE WITH THE CONSENT OF THE

MINISTER OF WORKS ANDTRANSPORT UNDER SECTION 67(1) OF THE

MOTOR VEHICLES ANDROAD TRAFFIC ACT

 

THE TRAFFIC CONTROL (EXPERIMENTAL SCHEME)(PORT-OF-SPAIN) (N REGULATIONS, 2016

 

 

Citation

1.       

These Regulations may be cited as the Traffic Control (Experimental Scheme) (Port-of-Spain) Regulations, 2016.

 

 

 

Duration

 

 

 

2.  These Regulations shall commence on Monday 14th March, 2016 and expire on Monday 13th June, 2016.

 

 

Entry to taxis

 

3.     Taxi drivers shall enter-

 

(a)    Richmond Street, between London Street and Independence Square North;

 

(b)   Independence Square North, between Frederick Street and Henry Street;

 

(c)    Abercromby Street, between Independence Square South and Independence Square North;

 

(d)   Edward Street, between Wrightson Road and Independence Square North;

 

(e)    Abercromby Street, between Hart Street and Knox Street;

 

(f)    Frederick Street, between Hart Street and Independence Square North;

 

(g)   Queen Street, between Charlotte Street and Abercromby Street;

 

(h)   Henry Street, between Independence Square North and Queen Street;  and

 

 

(i)     St. Vincent Street, from Knox Street to Independence Square North,

 

between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

 

No parking

 

 

4.      A person driving a motor vehicle shall not park on the southern side of Traquillity Street, Port-of-Spain.

Offence and penalty

5.      Any person who contravenes these Regulations is liable on summary conviction for a first offence to a fine of seven hundred and fifty dollars and on any subsequent conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars.

 

Removal and impounding of vehicles unlawfully parked Chap 48:50

6.      Without prejudice to any other liability incurred by the commission of a summary offence, vehicles found parked in contravention of these Regulations may be removed by the Police and impounded and dealt with in accordance with section 108(1) (b) of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act.
