The A.P.T. James has been Officially Commissioned

On January 21st, 2021, Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley, Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport , The Honourable Foster Cummings, Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport and Assemblyman Ancil Dennis Chief Secretary and Secretary of Tourism, Culture officially Commissioned the A.P.T. James.

During the feature Address Dr. The Honourable Keith Rowley the Prime Minister said “this is a time of rejoicing for the people of Trinidad and Tobago”.

The feature address was followed by the Blessing of the Vessel, the Re-release of the A.P.T. James Biography, unveiling of the A.P.T. James Plaque and a Tour of the Vessel.

Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Arts, Senator the Honourable Randall Mitchell, Minister of Youth Development and National Service, the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds, Minister of Public Administration and Digital Transformation, Senator the Honourable Allyson West, and Chairman of the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO), Herbert George. Family members of the late A.P.T. James were present at the Commissioning Ceremony.

The A.P.T. James is a 94 metre vessel aluminium high speed catamaran, with capacity for 926 passengers and 250 cars, travelling at speeds up to 37.5 knots, was custom designed and built for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. This vessel features the very latest in Australia's 'smart ship' technology, including an advanced Motion Control System to deliver a more comfortable and stable ride for passengers and crew.

Prior to the Commissioning Ceremony, the A.P.T. James successfully completed its Maiden Voyage!
