MOWT Provides and Update on Paria and Toco Main Roads

Public

The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to provide an update on the Toco and Paria Main Roads which were impassable to vehicular traffic due to landslips and flooding in the area.

Crews from the Highways Division and Mechanical Services Division were dispatched last night and joined by the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation today, Thursday, 30th June, 2022.

Clean-up efforts are still ongoing to clear slush, and heavy debris along the Paria Main Road, to restore connectivity and vehicular access to the Grande Riviere and Matelot communities, in the shortest possible timeframe.

Members of the general public are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traversing the area, and all other areas where landslips are prone, such as North Coast Road, and the Lady Young Road.

The Ministry of Works and Transport apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the general public for their patience, and continued cooperation. Please stay connected to the Ministry’s official platforms for updates on this matter.
